GTC ‘Safety First’
Rod Silvers
(Producer / Director):
Rod has worked extensively within the field of corporate training and film for over 25 years in a wide variety of industries specialising in the Construction, Rail, and Utility sectors. Having been involved in 1000’s of training sessions he has honed his skills both as a Facilitator and Roleplayer working with groups from 20 to 2000 people, not only in the UK but Internationally. His experience in film spans producing, writing and directing. His desire to highlight mental health and wellbeing in the workplace has resulted in him being invited to do talks at the Barbican, and on BBC Radio’s 4 and 5 Live.
Dave Butterworth B.A (Hons) PCET
(Facilitator):
Dave has been a coach and trainer for over 30 years. During his working life he’s had a variety of jobs predominately within the public sector. Dave started in the Army and after eleven years joined the Police. As well as carrying out operational duties he found a liking to training. This started as a personal safety instructor and then a law trainer. Whilst in the training arena Dave went on to complete a variety of qualifications to enhance his skill set, eventually achieving a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Post-Compulsory Education and Training with Christchurch University. His mantra for training stems from the Confucius saying; ‘Training is not about lighting a fire under someone, it is about lighting a fire within them’.
Gary Dearlove Deakin
(Facilitator):
Gary has been working as a Behavioural Development Facilitator for over 25 years. Having worked on many events and programmes from small sessions to large conferences, he has been a lead. He has also been a lead designer and consultant on campaigns and projects in both the private and public sectors. With high levels of energy and integrity he is passionate about leading safety from the front due to his own personal journey. He loves nothing more than to get into a room, (any room, with anyone) to help kick-start a good smattering of straight, smart talking – especially when that talking translates into the kind of action and improvement to be proud of.
